Inspirations and Aspirations

 About the exhibition:

 

The works featured in the exhibition are acrylic and oil and canvas, mix media on paper and charcoal on paper. Few exhibits are stark yet geometric portrayal of the spiritual and modern life. A unique and insightful scrutiny of the way our lives are headed. The canvases invite the connoisseur to delve deep into the gauge of black and white within themselves and the world around them and at the same time accept the hues of grey. The stark colour draws myriad interpretations of life, man and his humanness. Few exhibits are portraits, some are inspired by waves and nature. Artist Preethi Koduri Grandhi is fascinated by the temples and its magical nature. She is a creative spirit spewing her creativity into paintings. Keerti uses colours which depict happiness. Anamika is showcasing her excellence in portraits. We can see the experience of life in Taara's creativity. Urvi is a Chef and we can see her culinary skill on the canvases also. Amrita Matharu is a minimalistic abstract artist and she works from her studio in Gurugram.

 

Both the curator and the artist were working on these concepts for the past ten months. The canvases portray the artist's conflict and cares, and their creative urge to present their besieged soul onto paper.

 

Arushi has now taken refuge in geometric shapes hidden in everyday life. A large part of her inspiration is drawn from her childhood impressions that left an indelible mark on her psyche.

 

The black and white paintings bring to life the ruthlessness of life whereas the contrasting colour and the indefinable shades of grey bring myriad interpretations to the surprises that come with everyday life. The paintings depict the struggle, the joys and the reality of everyday modern life. In pen and ink, these canvases are an ode to man and his humanness.
