Music and More Summer Retreat

Dear Ones,

It is with great joy that we invite you to register in the founding batch of the Music & More Summer Retreat. This is an initial step towards the vision of Daaji - Shri Kamlesh D Patel, Spiritual Guide of Heartfulness – to create a Music Gurukul by The Heartfulness Institute.

Retreat Venue: Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad

Retreat Dates:

Arrival: Evening, Friday, May 23rd, 2025

Retreat: Saturday, May 24th, 2025 to Sunday June 1st, 2025

Departure: Sunday, June 1st, 2025 after 1 pm

*Last Day for Registration: Friday, 16th May, 2025

Training Styles and Streams:

Bharatnatyam Dance – Basic and Advanced

Hindustani Flute – Basic and Advanced

Hindustani Vocal – Basic and Advanced

Carnatic Vocal – Basic and Advanced

Carnatic Flute – Basic and Advanced

Format of Music & More:

3 hours of intense classes per day (2 sessions of 1.5 hours each)

Group classes with individualized attention

Remaining time for practice and other unique exposures to Kanha Shanti Vanam (e.g., Meditation, Wellness Centre, Kanha Tour)

Eligibility:

Program is meant for students of music/dance and neither professionals nor absolute beginners

Age 7 onwards. Those between ages 7-15 need to be accompanied by a guardian; others need to be in good health and able to manage themselves

Basic Stream: Students with at least 1 year of formal training in music/dance. Those who have learnt the basic scale/steps and a few compositions. Not applicable for absolute beginners or advanced level musicians.

Advanced Stream: Students with 3+ years of structured training in music/dance. Must know ragas, taal, compositions (and the equivalent in dance). Not applicable for professional artists.

Participants will be requested to upload a short 2 min video/audio clip after registration to better prepare teachers.

Planned Exposure:

Basic Stream: Solidify foundations, exposure to few compositions, inspirations to continue.

Advanced Stream: Exploration of thematic learning and musical/dance expression.

Professional Fees and Expenses:

Professional Fees: Rs. 15,000/- per participant

Estimated Food Expenses: Rs. 500/- per day, simple vegetarian food (3 meals, tea). Additional paid Café options for multi-cuisine vegetarian food, available on campus.

Estimated Accommodation expenses: Range from Rs. 750/- per day to Rs. 5600/- per day
