NATIONAL LEVEL FARMERS MEET ON COMMERCIAL CULTIVATION OF MEDICINAL PLANTS AND ORGANIC FARMING

 

ABOUT THIS EVENT:

Agriculture sector contributes a major portion in gross production of India. In spite of this, agriculture today is finding itself in increasing difficulties. The adverse impact of agriculture based on increasing cost of cultivation, less output in traditional crop cultivation, synthetic fertilizers and herbicides is visible in the degradation of soil fertility, quality of food and taste of food etc.

Organic farming of medicinal crops may prove to be a boon to curb these adverse results. It is identified as an important part of the sustainable agriculture. However, there is dearth of awareness on commercial cultivation of medicinal crops and organic farming in India. It has been assumed that farmers are not aware the importance of this new option to increase farmers income.

Organic Farmer Producer Association of India- OFPAI in association with International Institute of Advanced Agriculture Skill Development- IIAASD as usual came up with this farmer meet as a treat for the farmers of India. We invocate farmer community to join this 2 days event.
