About the Program
The MDP on 'Content and Thematic Analysis of Field Data' enables participants to learn and implement the basics of the two most popular methods of analysisin qualitative research. The MDP will explain the process of framing questions, searching and selecting participants, transcription of field notes, screening of the qualitative responses, creating filtering, and finally coding the data. The MDP uses a hands-on pedagogy and allows participants to understand the theory and build practical knowledge on qualitative data analysis, with special focus on content and thematic techniques. The MDP will also cover discussion on different types ofdata collection methods, sampling techniques, and reliability and validity of qualitative data in qualitative research. Different scenarios and research papers will be discussed and explained as examples to elaborate on how to report and display results obtained from qualitative analysiswith a special focus on the content and thematic methods. The core objective of the MDP is to enable participants to launch their own research and studies with qualitative techniques.

- Introduction and types of Qualitative Research.
- Sampling techniques in Qualitative Research. Data collection methods in Qualitative Research. Reliability andvalidity in Qualitative Research.
- Analyses (Coding) of qualitative data using Content and Thematic Analysis. Interpret and reporting ofthe results obtained through the Content and Thematic Analysis.
- Tips on publication of Qualitative Research.
Resource Person
Dr. Musarrat Shaheen has completed her MBA and PhD in the area of Human Resource from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad. She is currently working with ICFAI Business School (lBS), Hyderabad as an Assistant Professor. She has also done certification in HR analytics from 11M Rohtak. She has edited a book on qualitative research methods which is published by IGI Global, USA. Previous to this MDP she hasconducted several workshops on Qualitative Methods and Researches, Teaching Case Development, Competency Mapping and Assessment, Conflict Resolution, andAcademic Writings. Herresearch works are published inScopus abstracted, ABDC, andThomson Reuterlistedjournals suchas The Qualitative Report (Nova University, USA), Journal of Management Development (Emerald, UK), Advances in Developing Human Resources (Sage, USA), TheService Industries Journal (Taylor andFrancis, UK), andEvidence-Based HRM (Emerald, UK). She has presented several papers and cases at the conferences of international repute including Harvard University, USA. Her teaching cases are uploaded in The Case Centre, UK She has received several awards. Recently she was conferred with the "Outstanding Young Woman Management Researcher Award" by AIMS International in the year2020. Shehas morethan five years ofindustry andmorethan six years ofresearch andteaching experience.
