Entrepreneurial Journalism workshop:

Gone are the days when everybody thought that it is enough for Journalists to understand the working of a newsroom and to learn to work under deadlines. These days, there is a necessity for Journalists to understand the business of Journalism in order to stay on top of the business and to avoid the risk of becoming redundant and getting eliminated from the business. Most of the Journalists are becoming their own brands by having separate blogs/ vlogs/ podcasts/ Youtube channels of their own. Taking this a step ahead is the business of entrepreneurial Journalism. Journalists create content in order to make money from it. The content could be either in the form of text or podcast or audiovisual content but, the aim is to interest readers/ viewers and make money out of it. This solely relies on the digital platform.

As an initiative to create awareness among budding Journalists/ entrepreneurs about the availability of such a platform, Chennai’s Visualite Film Institute is conducting an online workshop on Entrepreneurial Journalism.
