Escape to the magical glow of nature with our Rajmachi Fireflies Trek, a perfect weekend getaway that blends adventure, nature, and tranquility. Nestled in the Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra, Rajmachi is not only home to scenic mountain trails and ancient twin forts but also becomes a glowing wonderland during the pre-monsoon season. This specially curated experience offers you the chance to witness the mesmerizing fireflies phenomenon—a rare bioluminescent spectacle where thousands of fireflies light up the forest for their mating ritual, creating an unforgettable sight under the stars.
The trip begins with pickups from Pune at multiple locations between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM, or travelers can opt for self-drive or board at Lonavala by 4:00 PM. From there, a rugged vehicle ride takes you to Rajmachi base village. After freshening up, enjoy hot evening snacks and tea, followed by village exploration or rest. A delicious Maharashtrian dinner is served before you head into the jungle for the guided firefly forest trail at 9:00 PM. The night ends around a peaceful campfire, with overnight tent stays provided.
Day 2 starts early with a serene sunrise trek to Rajmachi Fort at 6:00 AM. After soaking in panoramic views from the fort's summit, descend back to the village for breakfast. The group begins the return journey by 12:00 PM and reaches Pune or Mumbai by 2:00 PM.
Please carry essentials like valid ID, cotton clothing, extra clothes, toiletries, torch, mosquito repellent, power bank, and comfortable footwear. The firefly sightings depend on natural factors and cannot be guaranteed—no refunds will be issued in case of non-sightings. Rules such as no loud music, no flashlights during the trail, and respecting nature and fellow trekkers are strictly enforced to maintain the peace and preserve the environment.
