Science Explorers Quest (Sr)

About the Event
Science Explorers Quest (Sr) (Grade 8-Grade 10)
"Activity before Concept, Concept before Vocabulary"—that’s how science should be learned! Instead of memorizing definitions, students will explore, experiment, and discover science in action.
We’ve carefully selected 25 hands-on experiments from high school physics, chemistry, and biology to make learning engaging and unforgettable. These experiments don’t just teach concepts—they bring them to life, ensuring deeper understanding and long-term retention.
Let’s break free from rote learning and spark a true passion for science!
In this module, you will do the following experiments and activities:
- Nutrient identification: Know the nutrients in your food
- Stem cross-section: Observing the cross-section of stem under the microscope
- Electrolysis of Water
- Law of conservation of mass
- Vitamin C: Which Juice Has the Most?
- Different Types of Chemical Reactions
- Crystallization of Salts
- DNA extraction: Extract DNA from anything, even your own
- Compare the effectiveness of different agents such as soaps, deodorants and hand sanitizers against the bacterial growth
- Reproduction in Yeast: What Makes Bread, Beer and Wines?
- Oersted experiment: Studying magnetic field produced by electric current
- Making a DC motor
- Action of saliva on starch: Effect of temperature
- Playing with static electricity
- Reflection and refraction
- Electroplating: Coating Metal over Metal
- Make Your Own Soap
- Reactivity Series: Comparing the reactivity of Elements
- Mold observation: Microscopic observation of moulds
- Making rollercoaster
- Defects of vision: Correction of myopia and hypermetropia
- Make Electromagnet (permanent and temporary)
- Eddy current braking
- Neutralization reaction
- What effect do ultraviolet rays have on bacterial colony growth?
Duration: 4 hours a day for 5 days.
Minimum Age: 11 years
About us:
Experient Science Labs, founded by Virendra Paliwal, an XLRI and Infosys alum, in 2017, has a state-of-the-art facility spanning over 2700 square feet. It is a go to labs for school students, our lab has been the venue for over 200 experiments and tinkering activities conducted by more than 3000 students over the past seven years. Serving as a hub for research and exploratory work, our lab is favored by students pursuing their international syllabus. At Experient Science Labs, we are deeply committed to experiential learning in science, firmly believing that it is the cornerstone for fostering a lasting interest in the subject and nurturing a scientific mindset in students. We advocate against rote learning in science, advocating instead for a hands-on approach that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to India's sustainable advancement in science and technology, thereby fostering a nation with a robust scientific foundation.
