Good day. Women in Energy Sector (WIES) founded in 2016, is a voluntary group of professionals working together in the energy sector for encouraging involvement of both women and men at all levels of leadership to promote diversity & inclusion at work place. The mission of the group is to encourage collaborative working & having a dialogue on different working cultures in the energy sector. It also brings together leaders to share industry knowledge, strategies and experiences on enacting positive organizational change and personal growth. 'Women in the Energy Sector Conference (WIES) organizes its annual meet once a year that brings together women & men from the energy sectors from across the globe to contribute immensely towards sustainable energy development involving more women in energy projects. WIES 2025 will be organized on 7th August, Mumbai India. Women have been steadily increasing their presence in the energy sector, yet they remain underrepresented, especially in technical and leadership roles. According to industry reports, women make up approximately 22% of the workforce in the oil and gas sector and 32% in renewables, with even lower figures in executive positions. The energy sector is evolving, and women are playing a vital role in shaping its future. With increased focus on gender diversity and inclusivity, the industry is becoming more welcoming to women. The key to success lies in continued efforts toward education, mentorship, and policy improvements to ensure equal opportunities. The WIES 2025 will discuss gender diversity and inclusion, unconscious bias and discrimination, mentorship and networking opportunities, supportive work-life balance policies, and addressing systemic inequalities and intersectional challenges in the energy sector. The event will address these factors, companies and organizations can create a more inclusive and equitable environment that fosters the growth and advancement of women professionals in the energy industry. The Conference will bring together key stakeholders from India’s Energy sector to deliver curated content on developments in women’s contributions in the energy field and recommend solutions towards an inclusive energy sector.
