This particular workshop explores the science and technology of alien life forms and our attempts to make contact with them. We will analyze how life can be described through thermodynamics, identify the conditions for it to emerge, evolve, and thrive. We’ll also talk about how intelligent life can visit or make contact with humans. To make the session even more interesting, we’ll survey and assess the possibility of aliens having made contact with us already and lay down the facts about Roswell, Area 51, abductions, UFOs, conspiracy theories, etc.

2. Discuss the evolution of life on Earth.
3. Identify the factors necessary for life to thrive (Goldilocks Zone).
4. Survey the human efforts to find alien life and make contact.
5. Evaluate the probability of finding intelligent extraterrestrial life.

How the webinar works:

• The registered number will be added to a temporary WhatsApp group where event coordination will take place.
• The online session will take place over Zoom Meetings. The meeting link will be shared 30 mins before the workshop begins (by email and on WhatsApp group).
• A computer with headphones and a reliable internet connection is necessary.
• The facilitator will share their computer screen where the content will be displayed (Powerpoint presentation, worksheets, software UI, videos, simulations, virtual tour etc.).
• The facilitator will also be giving live audio commentary and explanations. Webcam may be used depending on the workshop.
• The participants can interact with the facilitator using the chat feature. We may unmute the participants on a case by case basis during Q&A segments.
• The participants will have their audio muted and their webcam stopped to ensure a smooth streaming experience for all.
• One ticket permits only one device (computer/tablet) to join the Zoom Meeting.
• The live stream of the online session is only for personal use, and thus shouldn't be recorded or transmitted or projected to an audience unauthorised by the organizer.
• You may experience network latency during the session considering the high internet usage because of lockdown.
• The workshop may get postponed or cancelled if our team members get affected by COVID-19.
